This should be a really interesting day with great opportunities for members. Ewan Allinson, Chair, has been very busy on your behalf and has lots to tell you about.

Chair of LAN Members, Ewan Allinson, is leading one of the shortlisted bids, Northern Heartlands, for the Great Place Scheme. At the meeting in January he will explain how this is relevant to LAN members and how members might become involved in this pilot project or in other pilot or future projects in their own geographic area.

We have invited members to make a presentation about their organisation and their work to help us to make an audit of strengths in the Landscape and Arts Network with a view to creating opportunities for members to be involved in, train others and influence the future of the Great Places Scheme. Increasingly artists will be required to work with local communities to help them to reveal the hidden heritage in their communities and to train artists in their roles. The Landscape and Arts Network has members with extensive experience in working with communities in this way.

At this Annual Meeting in January we will be creating an audit of members’ strengths and experiences to feed into the developing process of the Great Places Scheme.
